Great Buddha & Hasedera
Discover the revered iconic Great Buddha and beautiful Hasedera Temple
Service Description
Starting at 2pm, the tour leaves the meeting point by the East Exit of Kamakura Station and takes a short bus ride to the much-loved giant bronze statue known as the Great Buddha, or Daibutsu, and Hasedera Temple, a multilevel complex with classical Japanese-style gardens, natural caves adorned with wall carvings, and, in the main hall, an awe-inspiring Kannon statue, said to have been washed ashore on Sagami Bay, a sweeping view of which can be enjoyed from an observation deck. Between the two venues, tour guests take a leisurely stroll past quaint antique and souvenir shops and an array of cafes and eateries serving sweets and snacks including local delicacies. After the tour, the guests take the Enoden LIne, a vintage railway line in operation since 1901, for a quick journey back to Kamakura Station.
